TOM’S PARTY part II

TOM’S PARTY part II

I had no idea where we were going as Tom hadn’t even told me where in town he lived. Whenever I had asked he would avoid the question by telling me “All in good time, Joy.” and change the subject. Then, much to our (Anne and I}) amazement, Brian turned into the tree lined avenues of what was considered the posh old residential part of town. You may know of the sort of area I mean as most old towns have them; Victorian type detached and semi-detached villas each side of wide sweeping avenues. We eventually arrived at a house set back from the corner of a side cu’l-de-sac. Brian spotted Toms car in the side road and parked behind it. Tom had obviously seen us arrive because he was there to greet me as I got out of the car. He gave me such a big hug and long kiss; I almost fainted with desire as I felt his hands exploring! Brian retrieved our small over night bags and asked Tom where he was to put them.

“Put Joy’s bag in my room, Brian, and you might just as well use one of the spare rooms opposite. In the meantime I will show Joy and Anne around the house then when you join us you can show Anne where the room is you’ll be using and where the bathroom is. Okay?”

Brian just smiled and we followed Tom toward the house, on the way I asked him who was there.

“…Oh, most of our pals, Joy, unfortunately LC and Anna plus a few others couldn’t make it because of works or college Christmas events. There are also a few of my pals that you haven’t met yet. They have all been looking forward to meeting you so I will introduce them as we go round.”

As we got near to the front door Anne and I could hear and see that the house was heaving with people. I looked at Anne, I could’ve cried, I was so disappointed. Even though he had told us it would be a party, I, for some reason, thought it would just be the four of us and maybe a few of our regular social group of mates… Silly me!

I suppose I should have realised as the clue was there all the time, what with him saying that if I didn’t want to go through with it we could still have lots of fun later on playing some of the games we had so enjoyed playing at Ray’s.

Once again, nowt so blind as those who only see what they want to see!

I soon got over it…

The entrance hall was huge with, across to the left a flight of wider than normal stairs sweeping up to a gallery landing where there were a few chaps, looking down watching us come in. As we entered he said to a lad standing near the door that we were the last so he could shut the door. “Invite only, Joy, that way it saves a lot of bother with potential gate crashers; there wont be any and if there are they will soon be dealt with. That right Len? This is Joy, Len, my special Joy.”

He smiled at me. “I hope I will have the pleasure of your company too Joy, later.”

How polite, I just returned the smile.

Anne and I were wide eyed with amazement. more so Anne as this entrance hall was the size of her parents living room, if not bigger.

He led us to the right through a double door into the main living room. This room was as big, or almost as big as the whole ground floor of each of our parents council houses, that’s when we looked at each other, shrugged, and gave up with the household comparisons as there was obviously more to follow. Neither of us had ever been into such a huge house that was actually being lived in. Off that room to the back of the house was another smaller room with what I now know as French doors giving access to a conservatory. On the left from that smaller room was a swing door into a large kitchen. Opposite at the far end was another swing door, to our right a back door, and on our left, a door back which we went through back into the entrance hall. He then took us across the bottom of the stairs into a short corridor where he pointed out that there was a cloak room and two, yes, two toilets! Then on past them then into another slightly smaller living room almost a mirror image of the previous living room but with, to the rear, a dining area which also had french doors into a conservatory and also a swing door back into the kitchen. We found that the conservatory went across the whole of the back of the house. Access to what seems to have been a huge garden was through the conservatory – he didn’t show me the garden on this occasion. I was to get to appreciate it’s seclusion later that following summer at another of his parties.

He, like he said, would stop to introduce us, well me really to particular couples or lads, friends of his that had (so he said) been looking forward to meeting me. With out exception they were all very nice and friendly and all insisting that Tom, after having shown me around would fetch me back to join them so that they would be able to get to know me better.

One of the chaps he introduced me to had been taking photos with one of those instant photo cameras which much to my surprise were in colour. One of the photos was of me and Tom kissing when I arrived. He said I could have it for a kiss. I gave him a kiss on the cheek. “A real kiss.” he said.

“Save it ’till later Joy.” said Tom, flashing me a smile and punching him lightly on the arm.

“Something for me to look forward to, Joy.” As he gave me the photo.

I thanked him and said that I had noticed whilst on our tour that there was an occasional flash of light like a camera flash bulb but without that crackle-pop that usually happens when one takes photos indoors like with my Kodak. And that I had thought that it may have been LC and that I had been looking around for him or Anna. He told me that LC nor Anna were there so he was taking the party photos using LC’s camera for LC to develop the film and process the prints later for anyone that wants copies.

Tom dragged me away. “Just ignore him Joy and like a bad smell he will go away.”

“Only after my kiss Joy.”

I laughed. “You never know, you just may get lucky.” (For the life of me I can’t remember his name.)

“Come on I’ll show you upstairs.” It was just then that Brian turned up and whisked Anne away. “Oh well, just you and me then Joy. Want to see where my room is?”

The gallery at the top of the stairs was a small sitting area with two small sofas and a small coffee table between them. Tom stopped for a brief chat with the few lads and two girls hanging around chatting. I recognised the two girls, whom I knew as belonging to another local Guides group. We said our hello’s to which Tom seemed surprised at our knowing each other, but not as surprised as Suzanne seeing me.

A corridor led off each end of this area. Tom indicated that there were three bedrooms and a bathroom each side and that his parents room, to the right across the gallery, was out of bounds. His room was to the left of the gallery and was the second door on the right. the first door on the right being a bathroom. The other two bedrooms were the first and third door on the left. The middle door being a linen cupboard. He pointed out that Brian and Anne would be in one of the rooms near us. The lay out was the same on the other side of the landing only that the master bedroom was on the right, at the front of the house with it’s own shower room and the other two bedrooms were on the left with a bathroom located between them.

It was whilst he was showing me around upstairs that Tom started to explain that… “With all these parties Joy there are really only a few simple rules which, basically, are the same as those observed by our group of friends and playmates. You know what I mean Joy, don’t you?” I nodded and he continued … “Blah blah blah” … he went on and on and I just switched off. It was more intriguing to me that Suzanne was there and I had just remembered the other girl as Caroline. She was also a guide and I had heard that her older sister had just become a bunny girl! … “Blah blah blah” … Now where had that new Playboy club opened, was it Liverpool or Manchester? … “blah blah”… or was it London? Not that it mattered. … “Persuaded maybe” …Eh! … “blah blah blah … is that all feel safe about what we do as a group. And you know that it works, don’t you Joy?”

Oh gosh, that was a question. I nodded. I was not really sure to what I was agreeing let alone what he had just been rabbiting (more like lecturing) on about. But what the heck, I trusted him and just wanted us to get on with it.

But no, after a kiss and a cuddle and a roll about on his bed he was keen to get back to the party. ” Come on Joy we have got this to look forward to later on when most have left. Let’s go and find Brian and Anne. See what else is going on and maybe even join in.”

I thought “find” was the right word to use, I had never been in such a grand house and to me it was becoming a bit overwhelming. Tom seemed to sense my awe … “It was my great grandfathers house, Joy. He had something to do with the salt mining here abouts and the family has lived here ever since.” He was almost apologetic. Now his surname made sense, I wondered if my dad had put two and two together.

The same lads plus a few others were still hanging around on the landing but Suzanne and Caroline were no where to be seen. I was hoping for a bit of a chat with them. Oh well, later on perhaps. But as the party for me became more Tom focused they went right out of my mind.

We were down stairs by now. “By the sound of it, they will probably be in here Joy.”

He led me into the main living room. The sound was Roger and Con playing their guitars and singing popular folk type songs as well as recent pop songs. Though, apart from the Beach Boys – Sloop John B – which sticks in my mind because Brian and Anne were joining in with such deafening gusto, I can’t remember what else we all enjoyed singing. Though the following words from one of Roger’s nonsense songs are for some unknown reason etched in my mind … “Six foot two, solid blue, six transistors in her shoe. Has anybody seen my gal?” … Sung to the tune of Anybody seen my gal?

After a while Tom told me that he would have to keep moving around, would I care to join him. I would’ve like to stay but thought it better that I did circulate with him.

We went back into the hall and from there onward he kept stopping to chat and introduce me to various mates, some of whom he had introduced on our previouse trip round, many of whose names I had, embarrassingly, promptly forgotten. I was, never have been, and still ain’t good at remembering names of people introduced at social gatherings. We found most of our friendship group in the smaller living/ dinning room where, sure enough, Linda was desperately trying to organize a game that nobody wanted to play; they all just wanted to dance and sing along to the pop records that Melvin and Richard were selecting. She even tried to get me and Tom to set her ball rolling. Much to my joy, Tom told her he had other plans for me…

“Oh! What’s that then Tom?” She asked. He didn’t answer and we moved on.

He headed for the kitchen but I asked if we could look in the conservatory, he didn’t think I would like it in there as it would be terribly smoky. I insisted. Sure enough it was too smoky, almost foggy! He was right, it was too smoky for my comfort, not that I would now admit that. He led me over to where a card game was in progress. I’ve no idea what they were playing but as there were a lot of silver coins and a few ten bob notes on the table they were playing for serious money. I recognized and greeted some of the lads but didn’t know any of the girls with them.

“This game will no doubt become more interesting later on Joy when those not invited to stay over have all left. We will have played something similar, Joy, if you you fancy joining in later.”

I smiled as I well knew the wanking game he meant! “There’s only one game I want to play tonight Tom.”

A big grin glued itself to his face as we went through into the kitchen to get a beer for him and – pushing the boat out – a babychame for me. We then went through to join in the singing again with Brian and Anne. Chatting, or trying to, we opined just how small our normal (well mine really) friendship group was compared to the amount of people there, although, to be fair, we did recognize some having seen them at various venues about town, but not know their names so most were strangers. To me they all seemed so much older and worldly. Which on reflection wasn’t really surprising as I along with Amanda and Ged must have been the youngest there. That realization in itself made me feel more grown up and more ready to be his Christmas present, to do with as he so wished, just to show how much I really loved him.

For a while I remained in that room with Brian and Anne whilst Tom continued circulating amongst his guests to, as he said, check that everyone was happy with whatever they were doing.

Some of the lads and couples he had introduced me to, seeing no Tom, had from time to time stopped for a chat and had invited me to join them. I thought it quite nice that without exception they had all expressed a desire to see more of me and to get to know me better.

Eventually, taking advantage of Roger and Con wanting a break, I decided that maybe I should mingle a bit too. As the sounds of music and merriment were from the other living room I made that my first port of call. When I walked in it was obvious that Linda had given up on trying to organize a game, she was in a corner sitting on Davids knee with a big pout on. Everybody else were all dancing around singing to the latest hits. Which was probably because Ray had taken over looking after the record player from Mel, which was most unusual. Amanda, seeing me looking around, came over and told me that Tony had taken them – Mel, Richard and Ged for a smoke.

“Smoke?”

“Yeah, they do that occasionally. I think it’s that funny tobacco stuff that so many are smoking now.”

Funny tobacco stuff? I had no idea what she was on about. Before I could find out more Nigel had grabbed me. “Come on Joy let’s dance.” Then with his arms around me whisked me into the centre of the room where we joined in with the singing and dancing.

Now this was my idea of a party.

Much to Nigel’s disappointment some of Tom’s pals wanted to dance with me too but after a while I made my excuses with them and Nigel and I Went into the kitchen for a drink. Thats where I found Tom with a few mates playing a sort of shove ha’penny game on the kitchen table with florins. The one that got their coin nearest to the bread board at the other end of the table, even if it was knocked closer by some one else’s coin, won all the coins played. Spotting us getting drinks he left the game and joined us.

With a big smile he said. “Soon Joy, soon, won’t be long as most will be leaving to get the last bus back to town. leaving those of our usual crew that can stop over, and a few folk that I have specifically invited, to play some of our games. We could play a game or two Joy if your interested in joining in.”

I knew exactly what games he meant which was the last thing I wanted to do. “We have our own special game to play first.” I said with what I hoped was a wicked smile.

He kissed me. “Soon Joy, soon as things settle down.” “Very soon Joy.” Kissed me again and whilst doing so whisked his hand up my skirt to check that I had no knickers. With a wink and a smile he said “Soon as possible Joy, soon as possible.” Then rejoined the game.

“What was that all about Joy?” Asked Nigel.

I just smiled. “Lets dance some more.” Grabbed his hand and led him back to where they were still singing and dancing.

Like I said, this was my idea of a party.

However, just like Tom said, it wasn’t long before there was what seemed like a mass exodus. It was like flicking a switch, with this sudden reduction in numbers the dynamics of the party perceptively changed. As if everyone had heaved a corporate sigh of relief and relaxed. It suddenly became like one of our usual gatherings at Ray’s house, albeit with a few extra lads and couples that were apparently good friends of Tom’s but whom were to me total strangers having only met them that night.

It didn’t take Linda long to start trying to organise a game of high low but nobody was that interested, being more intent on continuing dancing. That was until someone suggested musical laps.

“Musical laps, what’s that?” I asked Nigel.

“Oh, I’m sure you’ll like it Joy, it’s a bit like pass the parcel only we stay in couples dancing then when the music stops we have to find a seat and you sit on my lap, the couple left standing remove an article of clothing from each other. Now, there are several endings to this game, all of which we have played at Rays. Though thinking about it I don’t recall you ever having played it. This continues until either all are dancing naked or the first couple naked perform a forfeit of some sort for everyones entertainment. Another version we form two circles, the guys on the outside moving one way and the girls on the inside moving the other, when the music stops the lads find the nearest seat and the girls find the nearest lap, thereby constantly changing partners. As before, the standing couple remove from each other a item of clothing. This continues until a naked girl sits on the lap of a naked lad. Then they, as a couple have to perform some sort of forfeit activity. I can’t see a box or bag of forfeits any where so I would imagine this will be until all are naked. Then we think of another game to play, Will you be my partner Joy?”

Now he knew, and I knew, that Tom would have no objections to me being his partner and joining in with these sorts of games, but there was only one game I wanted to play so I gave him a tender kiss and made my excuses. Telling him that I would no doubt be playing games later but that as it was Tom’s party perhaps my first game should be with Tom. Fortunately Nigel, though visibly disappointed, could see my point. He kissed me back, “gives me something to look forward Joy.”

I went to find Anne. They were still in the other room where I left them, now snuggled up in a cosy armchair. It was now quiet in there as Roger and Con and most of the group that was in there had left but there were still a few couples there also snuggled up occupying whatever seating available. I suddenly felt arms around me, it was Tom. We chatted with Anne and Brian for just a few minutes then one of his pals called us over as he and his girl friend were making space for us on the sofa they had been laying on. We joined them and I took the opportunity to cuddle up to him, the first time all night. It didn’t take long for me to feel his hands exploring! At first I tried to stop him but on looking round I thought, what the hell am I bothered about, as others, settled in various chairs and sofas were so obviously busy exploring too. They were all Obviously checking that things were where they last felt them. So I settled and let Tom do the same.

Anne came over and, winking at me, said that they were off to somewhere a bit more comfortable. As they left I whispered into Tom’s ear suggesting that we should do the same and find somewhere a lot more comfortable too. Then, as po faced as I could, I suggested that it would also be a good time to unwrap my early Christmas present for him.

“That sounds interesting Joy but it’s still early yet, do you not want to see if there are any games in progress that you fancy joining in with first? I know some of our pals will also be leaving before long and I would hate for you to feel that you had missed out…”

“There is only one game I want to play Tom.”

“Come on then, let’s disappear for a while.”

He reluctantly let go of what he obviously thought was stopping me falling off the sofa to take my hand and lead me out of the room toward the stairs. But the hilarity coming from the other room got the better of us both and we just had to investigate. Musical laps was still in progress as most but not all were naked. What really caught our attention was Linda, now happy dancing top less bouncing and swinging her ample boobs around trying to hit any lad that happened to be near her. Spotting me, a now naked Amanda came over and asked me if we were at last going to join in?

But before I could reply Tom was telling her that I would, “… no doubt about it Manda, Joy will most definItely be available for a game or two later.” Then turning to me with that wicked smile that I knew so well. “You will play a game or two for me later wont you Joy?”

And with that led me up to his room.
